Growth of the NextGen Casual brand builds on a successful first year with significant franchise development

Taffer’s Tavern started the new year with a bang, being named one of FSR the magazine’s 50 NextGen casual brands to watch. In the coming months, the restaurant of the future will celebrate two grand openings with a new location in the Boston area in the Arsenal Yards neighborhood and another opening in Washington, DC, in the Penn Quarter.
In 2021, Taffer’s Tavern opened its second location as a concessionaire at FedEx Field, home of the Washington Commanders. The brand also entered into three new multi-unit franchise agreements in key markets across the country, including an agreement to bring 10 locations to Savannah, Georgia, and North and Central Florida, with a focus initial on the metro Orlando, Gainesville, Jacksonville and panhandle areas.
Alpharetta’s anniversary event brought the year to a festive close, inviting Taffer’s Tavern regulars, local influencers and other members of the community to sample past entrees and bubbles from the Taffer’s menu, as well than a special cake-cutting ceremony. Taffer was on hand to greet fans and sign merchandise, and special guests included Alpharetta Town Mayor Jim Gilvin and rescue bar Mixologist Phil Wills.
“The Alpharetta location has had a great first year of business, it’s a great addition to the heart of the city’s bustling downtown,” said Seth Chandlee, CEO of Chandlee Construction and one of the Alpharetta franchisees. “In the first year alone, our beverage mix far exceeded the casual dining industry average, which resulted in more capital to open our next restaurant. I look forward to seeing how the Taffer’s Tavern franchise continues to grow and get ahead of the industry curve.
