Leicester City interested in loan deal for Chris Richards

The transfer window is set for a busy end for Bayern Munich as they remain alert to opportunities to improve the squad. The German champions will also try to solve the future of young players by arranging loans for next season.

Chris Richards is one of the few young Die Roten players with a long-term future at the club, but they currently need a loan to secure consistent playing time. The young defender is expected to leave Bavaria on loan before the window ends.

Hoffenheim is the most likely destination for the US international. The German club are eager to re-sign Chris Richards on loan or permanently after his productive six-month loan spell in the second half of last season.

England’s latest report suggests Hoffenheim could face competition for Richards signing. According to Independent, Leicester City are interested in signing Richards on a one-season loan after Wesley Fofana was ruled out until January due to a serious injury in a preseason game against Villareal.

Leicester will be a good experience for Richards

Richards’ talent and potential is showcased by the interest of two good clubs. Hoffenheim will be a solid decision as it will take very little time for them to adjust. However, Leicester City will be a whole different challenge due to the rugged nature of the Premier League. He will face the best strikers in the world.

In addition, Brendan Rodgers is a very good coach for young players. The development of players like Fofana and Harvey Barnes under Rodgers bodes well for Richards if he decides to move to England. He will also get the experience of playing in Europe when Leicester City are expected to play in the Europa League.

Chris Richards has shown glimpses of his talent in the limited opportunities he has had with the senior Bayern squad. If he continues the upward trend of his development during loan periods, he should be able to force himself into first-team plans in Bavaria. A move to Leicester City may help Richards ease his development.

Besides Richards, Rekordmeister will seek to sort out the future of Mickaël Kitchen. The French midfielder will struggle to gain playing time in the first team. After a bad loan at Marseille last season, Cuisance must find the right club to relaunch his career.
